Abstract

The inaugural Northeast Gold‑Medal Driver Championship Series kicked off on July 28 in Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province—a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese often hailed as the “Little Jiangnan of Northern China” and the “Land of Fish and Rice in Heilongjiang.” As a young team composed of top local drivers from Northeast China and a regular contender in major domestic events, Yinhang Racing Team naturally seized this opportunity to take part in a competition of special significance. Led by Yang Tao, a celebrated driver who has claimed multiple titles in recent years—including the Mohe Off‑Road Rally, the Sino‑Russian International Ice and Snow Auto Challenge, and the Dalian International Off‑Road Rally—Yinhang Racing Team is well known for its consistent strong performances. Another key figure is Wang Xiang, a leading domestic rally‑drift specialist who has long dominated the national “King of Kings” championships, clinched the CRC annual title, and amassed countless accolades. Joining them are seasoned veterans such as Han Xuefeng, a prominent Northeastern racer with numerous tournament victories, along with promising newcomers like Jushuai, whose talent shows limitless potential. Together, these drivers will compete across all events in this year’s series.

Coinciding with the 16th Lotus Festival, a household name in Fangzheng, the four-day inaugural Northeast Gold‑Medal Driver Championship drew dozens of professional racers from across the country to showcase their skills, while a large contingent of media reporters and motorsport enthusiasts flocked to the event. The “Northeast Gold‑Medal Driver Championship Series” is scheduled as follows:

I. Competition Time:

On the 27th (Wednesday), all drivers must report for vehicle inspection by noon; in the afternoon, rally crews will conduct a route reconnaissance.

On Thursday, the 28th, attend the Lotus Festival opening ceremony and the race car parade in the morning; at 1:00 p.m., the first round of the off-road vehicle preliminary heats will take place.

On Friday, the 29th: 10:00 a.m., second round of the off-road vehicle preliminary heats; 2:00 p.m., off-road vehicle final (official opening ceremony).

On the 30th (Saturday): RV rally race and awards banquet.

II. Competition Venue:

The off-road race venue is the Mayihe Race Track in Songnan Township, Fangzheng County.

The rally venue is the Shibaigou Rally Track in Fangzheng County.

III. Event Groupings:

Off-road vehicle class: gasoline class, diesel class;

Motorhome Rally Class: Four-Wheel-Drive Class, Two-Wheel-Drive Class.

At 10:00 a.m. on the 28th, during the opening ceremony of the Lotus Festival, all participating vehicles lined up for a parade, presenting the overseas Chinese hometown’s residents with a special “welcome gift” from the drivers. Two race cars from the Ling Hang Racing Team’s rally division, their team flags flying high, were specially chosen by the organizers to serve as lead vehicles for the city‑wide parade. At 1:00 p.m., over ten thousand spectators gathered at the Mayihe Raceway, where the first round of the off‑road race preliminaries officially got underway. Yang Tao, driving car number 39 and adorned with the Ling Hang Racing Team’s flag, faced off against car number 36. As they entered the first jump, Yang Tao executed a spectacular aerial maneuver, earning thunderous cheers from the crowd. The track, featuring the “Three‑Peak Ridge,” the “Seesaw,” and numerous “S‑shaped bends,” concealed hidden checkpoints throughout. Following his initial leap, Yang Tao surged ahead of his rivals and, with steady skill and an outstanding performance, ultimately crossed the finish line in commanding fashion to claim victory in that heat.

The Lotus Festival and motorsport—those fortunate enough to take part in both are truly the luckiest of all. Lubricating oil Dealers from Fangzheng, Tonghe, Mulan, Yilan, and the Harbin region gathered in Fangzheng, donning the YINHANG blue T-shirts. They admired the lotus blossoms at Lianhua Lake, then headed to the Mayi River Raceway to cheer on the YINHANG racing team live. Witnessing their own team’s thrilling on‑track action, they experienced firsthand the visual excitement of motorsport. Everyone was deeply thrilled, and after the event, they toured the YINHANG race cars, chatting with our drivers about the races. Finally, they posed for group photos, marking an exhilarating and unforgettable day.
