Abstract
At exactly 7:00 a.m. on June 16, the group tour for the “Yinghang Petrochemical 2013: Hand in Hand, Co‑Creating the Future (Xi’an) Brand Summit” officially kicked off. Over four hundred attendees—Yinghang Petrochemical staff and numerous partners—divided into eighteen groups, gathered in the auditorium of the Jianguo Hotel, and set off promptly for the Terracotta Warriors at the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
The Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s mausoleum is one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in world history. In 1978, after visiting the site, former French Prime Minister Jacques Chirac remarked: “The world already has seven wonders; the discovery of the Qin terracotta warriors may well be considered the eighth. Without seeing the Qin terracotta army, one cannot truly say they have been to China.” Since then, the terracotta warriors have been hailed worldwide as one of the “Eight Wonders of the World.”
After nearly an hour’s drive, the “Eighteen‑Strong Army” of over four hundred port‑pilotage personnel arrived at the entrance to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum at Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum and began their official visit. In an instant, clad in their summer uniforms, the pilots seemed to merge with the vast expanse of the museum, virtually “swallowing up” all three exhibition halls. Despite the large numbers, the tour proceeded in perfect order; the consistently courteous and civilized conduct of our team left a deep and favorable impression on both visitors and local staff, reinforcing the positive image of “Pilotage” and its people.
According to the Records of the Grand Historian, Emperor Qin Shihuang began constructing his mausoleum at the age of thirteen, with Chancellor Li Si overseeing the planning and design and General Zhang Han supervising the construction. The project spanned a staggering 38 years. Each terracotta warrior, clad in battle armor and bearing a unique expression, is rendered with astonishing realism; every formation exudes an air of solemn dignity. Standing before the Terracotta Army, we seem to catch a glimpse of this elite force of the Qin state—fierce in combat, invincible on the battlefield. We can almost feel Emperor Qin Shihuang, master of strategy and commander from afar, orchestrating triumphs across vast distances, ultimately achieving his grand ambition of unifying the realm. At the site, every guide was deeply moved and inspired, profoundly touched by the relentless spirit of the Qin dynasty and by the emperor’s bold vision of “unifying the land.” We are confident that this same spirit and resolve will once again ignite the determination of all our guides, encouraging us along the path ahead to overcome obstacles and emerge victorious in every challenge.
After concluding their visit to the Terracotta Army at Emperor Qin’s Mausoleum, the tour guide rallied “the Eighteen Armies” for an exhilarating tug-of-war contest right outside the site. Throughout the match, each team displayed remarkable unity and a fierce determination to claim victory, creating an atmosphere of intense excitement.

In the early morning, the group set off on time.

The guided tour group entered the scenic area in an orderly manner.
