Abstract

You’re driving, tired and in a hurry, on the highway,

Passing by a service area, you just want to pop into the restroom for a quick break.

Pulling into the service area, I stepped out of the car and immediately saw a sea of people—packed in layers to the left and right—surrounding a huge truck.

You’re at a loss, wondering: what’s so great about a car?

Suddenly, two neatly dressed young men invite you in, serve you hot water and tea, and usher you to a seat in the plush, aviation‑style seats of a Mercedes. The air conditioning is perfectly comfortable, and soothing music fills the air. Their smiles are bright as sunshine, and their voices carry a warm, inviting tone.

 


 

On October 17, the Pilotage Caring Action Team visited the Demoli Service Area on the Ha‑Tong Expressway, a hub for truck drivers. They offered weary drivers a cup of hot water to chase away the chill and invited them aboard a luxurious Mercedes-Benz truck, where they could enjoy comfort while experiencing the pilotage service.
