Abstract
On February 28, 2015, the renowned journalist Chai Jing’s smog‑focused documentary “Under the Dome” was released, igniting a firestorm across the internet and WeChat circles—like a heavy bomb setting off a cascade of ripple effects.
Whenever smog blankets the North China Plain, discussions about its causes and ways to mitigate it invariably become hot topics. Some argue that vehicle emissions are the primary culprit, while others point out that cities like New York and Paris have vehicle densities no lower than those of certain major cities in North China—yet their air quality remains relatively unaffected. They contend that low‑quality fuels, coal‑based heating, and key polluting industries are the most significant sources of pollution.
In 2014, Chai Jing visited numerous academic institutions at home and abroad that study air pollution, conducted on-site investigations in some of the most heavily polluted areas, and examined the enforcement challenges underlying these issues. She interviewed representatives from key government bodies, including the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection. She also traveled to cities once plagued by severe pollution, such as London and Los Angeles, seeking lessons and best practices in air‑quality management. Ultimately, “Under the Dome” addressed three fundamental questions: What is smog? Where does it come from? And what can we do about it?
Here, we will not debate right or wrong; we will lead (guide). Lubricating oil I just want to talk about what we can do for the Earth!
The international community has long championed “automotive environmental protection,” and automotive experts and environmentalists strongly advocate “using low-sulfur fuels while also adding low-sulfur…” Lubricating oil “Combining the two reduces emissions and protects both the engine and the environment.”
Sulfur in lubricating oils, when burned in the combustion chamber, produces sulfur dioxide and a small amount of sulfur trioxide, which can cause severe air pollution. Since its inception, Linghang (Yinghang) has consistently adhered to the production of “clean, low-sulfur” lubricants, striving to minimize vehicle emissions of sulfur compounds.
So, how does Linghang Lubricants ensure “clean, low-sulfur” performance?
First, the “formulation” of Yinhang’s clean, low-sulfur lubricating oil is environmentally friendly. Yinhang Petrochemical has collaborated closely with Harbin Institute of Technology, integrating cutting-edge international lubrication technologies with its own proprietary anti-wear and energy-saving additives to meticulously develop a “clean, low-sulfur” lubricant formulation. This formulation was then rigorously tested and certified by its strategic partner, Canada’s CLS Light Source Company, ultimately achieving “formulation cleanliness” for Yinhang lubricants.
Secondly, the pilotage‑grade clean low‑sulfur lubricant boasts “clean raw materials.” It is formulated by blending a colorless, low‑sulfur base oil—Daqing Oilfield’s low‑sulfur paraffinic base—with additives from internationally renowned manufacturers such as Lubrizol and Afton. The detergents and dispersants in these high‑quality additives help prevent soot buildup in the engine and keep sludge in suspension, thereby ensuring that the pilotage lubricant maintains “clean raw materials.”
With the rapid expansion of the automotive industry, environmental pollution in China has become increasingly severe, drawing widespread attention to clean, eco‑friendly automotive products. Linghang Lubricants remains committed to producing low‑sulfur, environmentally friendly lubricants, and its energy‑saving, green credentials have earned consistent recognition from both partners and consumers. Looking ahead, Linghang will continue to strengthen technological collaborations with strategic partners such as Harbin Institute of Technology and AFV, delivering high‑quality lubricants that are even more environmentally sustainable, cleaner, and widely favored by the public.
