Abstract
In the south, April’s blossoms have long since faded, while in the north, peach trees are just beginning to bloom. Amid this most beautiful month of spring, the “Ice City” of Harbin has also welcomed a gentle, sunlit northern spring.
Harbin Institute of Technology’s School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and School of Chemical Engineering, the top-ranked institution in Northeast China, welcomed a distinguished guest—Mr. Zhou Zhongcheng, General Manager of Ling Hang Petrochemical. Mr. Zhou will join Professor Qu from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Professor Liu from the School of Chemical Engineering to jointly finalize in-depth cooperation for the Ling Hang–Harbin Institute of Technology Joint R&D Center and officially launch research on the grease project.

The greatness of a university lies in its distinguished scholars. Since the 1980s, Professor Qu Jianjun has been dedicated to research in the field of lubrication and tribology. Over the course of three decades, he has evolved from a vigorous young scholar into a venerable authority on lubrication, his temples now streaked with gray. Yet one thing has remained constant: his abiding passion for the discipline of lubrication.
Professor Qu and Dr. Niu briefed General Manager Zhou on the research group’s current status and its state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, and also presented the group’s recently completed small-scale trial sample of a composite titanium-based grease. General Manager Zhou expressed his admiration for Professor Qu’s decades of in-depth research and expressed his hope to translate this long-standing expertise into marketable products, thereby genuinely advancing the domestic lubrication industry.

They will delve into the mechanistic aspects of lubrication, committing themselves to developing the finest lubricating grease products in the Chinese market, while also publishing internationally influential academic papers and securing core patents, thus enhancing both the competitive edge of Ling Hang’s products and its brand strength.
