Abstract
In March, as grass grows and warblers flit about, all things awaken from their winter slumber. Yet for Tianjin in the north, a lingering chill still lingers. The gentle spring breeze arrives as promised, and with the full resumption of production at the Tianjin plant, the facility has welcomed the first wave of “family members” from Sichuan returning home to visit.
Ling Hang Petrochemical (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. is located in the beautiful Nangang Industrial Park of the Tianjin Binhai New Area, covering a total area of approximately 40,000 square meters, with a total investment of about RMB 250 million. It has a tank storage capacity of 30,000 tons and a throughput capacity of 100,000 tons.

Around 9 a.m. on March 15, our Sichuan family members couldn’t wait to arrive at the Tianjin factory—the “home” they’d long dreamed of. Though the weather was a bit chilly, it couldn’t dampen their joy at being back. As soon as they stepped off the bus, they began snapping photos; the new Tianjin home is truly impressive and beautiful!
First, everyone took a short break in the multi‑purpose office building while General Manager Cang, who’s overseeing the factory’s establishment, gave an overview of the Tianjin plant—its construction process, scale, and structural design. It was like an elder family member explaining to a child who hasn’t been home in ages: “Here’s how this house was built, what steps were involved back then, and how much it all cost.”
After General Manager Cang’s introduction, Engineer Zhou from the Technical Department led everyone on a factory tour. Our Tianjin colleagues had prepared all the necessary gear for the visit, and everyone cheerfully donned their safety suits on the first floor before following Engineer Zhou to begin the tour.
Mr. Zhou first led the team to the tank farm, which is located in the northern part of the plant. Covering an area of approximately 10,000 square meters—about one-third of the company’s total footprint—the project involved a total investment of roughly RMB 45 million. Although it’s just some tank farms and pipelines, with no picturesque landscapes to attract visitors, family members kept stopping in front of the tank areas to take photos and videos along the way, posting them on WeChat Moments to show off: “Look, our new Ling Hang factory—so impressive!”

Entering the production workshop from the central control console, Engineer Zhou provided a detailed explanation of the grease‑lubrication system, the coolant system, and the production line. In particular, the fully automated filling line on display captured everyone’s attention. This state-of-the-art, world‑leading equipment features 20 filling heads and can produce 4,000 bottles per hour, automating material feeding, filling, cap placement, carton opening, capping, boxing, and transportation.
After touring the factory, everyone was still eager for more. Immediately afterward, Engineer Zhou led the family members to the laboratory, where Chief Engineer Zhang of Ling Hang’s Technical Department explained the purpose and operating principles of each piece of equipment in detail. Following the lab tour, everyone was drawn to the engine displayed in the lobby. Many were seeing an automobile engine so clearly and directly for the first time; this Volkswagen engine seemed to possess an invisible magic that captivated them.
From the lobby, everyone headed to the second floor of the multi-purpose office building. In the conference room, they all joined in singing the company anthem, “Let Dreams Guide Our Lives.” Han, the head of the Sales Department, presented a PowerPoint titled “Welcome Home,” offering a comprehensive overview of the 2018 plan and future direction. After Han finished, General Manager Zhou Zhongcheng, the elder of the Ling Hang family, chatted warmly with the Sichuan team. His friendly conversation made everyone feel right at home—like an elder back at the family hearth, explaining matters concerning the household to those who’ve been away. As he spoke, everyone felt increasingly reassured, and as members of the Ling Hang family, they were filled with pride. Following Zhou’s talk, the team moved to the cafeteria, where the Tianjin colleagues had already prepared a hearty lunch for their Sichuan counterparts. In the clean and tidy dining hall, everyone enjoyed their meal. The Sichuan team joked, “Wow, that’s so generous—so much food! I’m stuffed…”
After lunch, the time spent together was truly precious—family members always had endless stories to share and conversations to enjoy. On the third floor of the office building, Engineer Zhou from the Technical Department presented “Common Faults and Solutions for Automatic Transmissions,” and everyone not only listened attentively but also took notes. Following that, Mr. Guo Feng, General Manager of Ling Hang Sichuan Company, delivered a 2017 sales summary and a 2018 sales plan to the Sichuan team, and awarded outstanding performers from 2017.
Finally, the Ling Hang family members posed for a group photo at the entrance of the Tianjin factory, while the Sichuan family boarded the bus bound for Beijing. The Tianjin factory team waved goodbye, looking forward to their next reunion.
